It's me! Hi! 👋

Hi...

I'm Kate. 25 years old, bit of a cinephile and a creative trying to break into this industry. I have recently finished my film degree and I am now fully committed to this creative profession. I have created this website to not only showcase my portfolio, but it also be a base for people to communicate with me and hopefully form some working relationships.

I have answered a few questions below that will hopefully help you get to know me better...

Where are you based? And are you willing to relocate?

I am currently based in the North East of England. I do love it here, and I know that opportunities are becoming more available around here, but that considering, I would reconsider relocating when the work becomes available.

What element of this creative industry do you love the most?

I love the whole process, but if I had to pick my top 3, it would be writing, directing and producing. I really like being in creative control and being the person that comes up with the ideas, as well as executes them.

What are you doing at the moment?

I am currently writing, writing and writing. I am learning how to use a camera, as well as taking a course over the summer in Film and TV production. My energy is currently with my latest short films that I have written, and doing my best to get those shot and edited ASAP.

What sort of things do you like writing, or filming?

I am hugely passionate in showcasing the often unheard voices. In particular, women and female presenting people, the LGBTQIA+ community and people from working class backgrounds. These are all things that have impacted me in some way in my life and I know how incredibly important it is to have representation of all kinds on screen and I would love to be a tiny little part of this future wave of creators who will stop at nothing to lift up these voices!

Favourite Movie?

Tricky... so I will pretend I am on a red carpet and Letterboxd have just asked me.
